It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Chair, Lynn McTiffin.
Lynn became Chair of WADAOS in 2022 and played a vital role in helping the society recover following the challenges of the Covid pandemic.
A passionate supporter of everything WADAOS stood for, Lynn worked tirelessly behind the scenes, particularly in fundraising for our productions. Her unwavering belief in the power of amateur theatre has been instrumental in ensuring a stable future for WADAOS and her love for the society was evident in everything she did.
Although health and circumstance sometimes prevented her from appearing on stage as often as she would have liked, when Lynn did perform she truly shone. Many will fondly remember her wonderful portrayal of Widow Corney in Oliver!, as well as her performance as Bloody Mary in South Pacific in 2004, alongside numerous other memorable appearances that reflected her talent and her passion for theatre.
Above all, Lynn will be remembered for her warmth, humour and commitment to the WADAOS family. She leaves behind a lasting legacy within the society and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.
Our thoughts are with Lynn's family, friends and fellow members at this difficult time. X
