Meet our Treasurer - Alistair Jones
The Treasurer helps keep the society running smoothly by looking after its finances. They manage the budget, keep track of income and expenses, and help ensure funds are used responsibly to support the society’s activities and future plans. Working closely with the committee, the Treasurer plays an important role in helping the society thrive.

Alistair became a member of Wadaos in 2006. to start with he assisted the stage crew for that years production of 'Fiddler on the Foof'. The next year having been spotted singing songs in the chase hotel by Ann and Elizabeth Simpson he was accosted into treading the boards for the first time! It certainly wasn't in his mind that one day he would be doing such a thing and it was very much out of his comfort zone. That first show was our production of 'Anything Goes' in 2007.
Although a man at his happiest on the Rugby Pitch he has had some creditable roles with us from 'Col Pickering' in my fair lady in 2009, and 'Captain Von Trapp' in 'The Sound of Music' in 2019. Alistair has been a dedicated and loyal member of the Society for over 17 years to date.
Of course he not only gives his time and commitment to the stage. Alistair has and continues to be a main contributor to the very survival of the society. He has for some years been our Treasurer and we can say that he has always given his time, his ear, and gentle patience to all he encounters in this role, he is a man of real integrity and we as a society are all the better for it!
Alistair was also for a long time the Safeguarding officer for Wadaos and we thank him for this work especially his knowledge and writing of policy documents and organising the required Chaperones for our productions. Recently the Society changed its safeguarding structure meaning that there would now be a Safeguarding Team rather than an individual person burdened with its great and serious responsibilities. Alistair thought it was time to take a step back from the accountability of the department handing over to the new 'Safeguarding Lead' Wendy Warden however he agreed to be a member of the new team.
