Meet our Secretary - Tracy Walker McOuat

The Secretary it could be argued is the most essential office of

Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatic Society. This office is an elected role and its term of office is 12 months. The Secretary is elected by the membership present and eligible to vote at the Society's annual general meeting. The role of Secretary is vast with many responsibilities, but to put it simply it is the management of the Society especially in administration.

Tracy has been with us for many years, she has tipped her toe into most aspects of amateur Theatre thus giving her a wealth of experience and knowledge that is invaluable to us and our success.

Tracy started dancing at the age of 16 and this is unusual as for the most part children go to dancing at a much younger age. She fell in love with dancing, she performed with another society from the age of 18 and was one of their senior dancers.

Tracy is well known locally having part in so many productions over the years. Tracy joined Wadaos in 2012 as the Choreographer in that years production of 'The Wizard of OZ'.

Tracy has Choreographed many of our productions since then a few to mention are Summer Holiday, Oliver, Sister Act, The Sound of Music, Annie, Into the Woods, The Addams family, Joseph and Jesus Christ Superstar.

in 2019 Tracy was awarded with her 25 years service medal from NODA. She has also won and been nominated for many Noda awards and Society awards.

After our long term Secretary retired from their duties Tracy was unanimously voted in to take the reins, her knowledge, dedication, and passion make her perfect for this role.
