Welcome to WADAOS!
"We must all do theatre, to find out who we are and to discover who we could become."-Augusto Boal
We are the Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatic Society (or WADAOS), established in 1904 and over 100 years later still committed to bringing theatre and music to Copeland and the surrounding area. We are a member of the National Operatic & Dramatic Association (NODA) and usually perform twice a year, staging both a play and a musical where possible! We are made up of members from age 8 to 80! The WADAOS family is a talented bunch but we are always looking for new members of all abilities, whether onstage or off.

Did you know that at the time of it's production, the film version of Annie was the most expensive musical ever made with a budget of $40 million??
Upon it's completion, the original creator of the Broadway musical, Martin Charnin, had nothing good to say about the film, describing Warbucks as "an Englishman who screamed" and Miss Hannigan as "a man-crazy drunk".
